With nearly a century-long history in the San Joaquin Valley, the Ricchiuti Family is committed to the preservation of the agriculturally rich area, using conservation management practices and devoting themselves to thoughtful land stewardship.

Irrigation Systems and Operations – The micro-drip and micro-spray irrigation systems employed by P-R Farms, Inc. are some of the most advanced available, and serve to provide the most efficient crop management possible while also conserving water. The devices and techniques used by P-R Farms, Inc. allow growers to manage field irrigation in three ways – by soil tension, soil temperature, as well as air temperature and relative humidity. Gauging these factors helps growers like P-R Farms, Inc. plan for the scheduling of fertilizer injections, frost protection, and mildew prevention.

  • PR Farms Headquarters – Cold Storage

2917 East Shepherd Ave. Clovis, CA 93619

P-R Farms, Inc.’ packing facility features technologically advanced cold storage systems (freezer -10 degrees, regular cold storage 33 degrees, and controlled atmosphere storage) which utilizes round-the-clock computer monitoring to ensure product stability and optimal conditions. The refrigeration control systems offer several features, such as remote access, reliable hardware and data storage, and alarm dial-out and paging, which safeguard against any unexpected deviations.

Solar – In 2005, Patrick Ricchiuti decided to invest in a one mega-watt large-scale solar panel electric system atop the company’s 150,000 square-foot Clovis packing facility. The arrangement, covering 98,000 square feet and providing 50% of the facility’s electricity, was one of the largest in the nation at the time of completion. Over the course of 30 years, the company’s CO2 emissions will be reduced by 10,000 tons – equivalent to planting 2,800 acres of trees or reversing the effects of 25 million miles traveled on California roadways.
